We are seeking an SEO/SEM expert to oversee all search engine optimization and marketing activities.

As the Search Engine Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing SEO initiatives such as content strategy, link building, and keyword strategy to enhance rankings across major search networks. Additionally, you will oversee SEM campaigns on Google, Yahoo, and Bing to maximize return on investment (ROI).

Responsibilities

  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data, and identify trends to optimize ROI in paid search campaigns.
  • Track, report, and analyze website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns.
  • Manage campaign expenses, estimate monthly costs, and reconcile discrepancies to stay within budget.
  • Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing (SEM) purposes.
  • Continuously perform keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization.
  • Research and implement search engine optimization (SEO) recommendations.
  • Analyze competitor advertising links and develop an effective link building strategy.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure proper implementation of SEO best practices on newly developed code.
  • Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and programming.
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking, and other factors to enhance SEO positions for target keywords.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Search Engine Marketing Specialist role should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience in SEO and SEM.
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition.
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends).
  • Familiarity with bid management tools (e.g., Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ignite).
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and their constraints.
  • Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM.
  • BS/MS degree in a quantitative, test-driven field.
